2009 Harvest Weekend for Women has come & gone, and WOW!! how God blessed us!! Words cannot describe the way this weekend touched women's lives this year! Our speaker, Lane Ann Miller, wasn't able to be with us, due to unexpected health issues and surgery, and, at first, the HWW Leadership Team was at a loss about what to do!!

We met to pray, every night for two weeks, and asked God to intervene. And boy did He!! We felt Him leading us to use some of our own women during HWW, and He worked out the details along the way. What a blessing to allow Him to be in charge, and watch Him work!!

Our own Beverly Malone was the speaker this year, and God used Beverly in a mighty way to speak to the over 340 ladies registered for the event! Her messages were timely and challenging and directly from Him! Kelly Garner was our worship leader once again and God used Kelly to draw closer to Him through our worship.

Our theme was "Women of Hope" and we had 3 times of testimony from ladies who have that "True Hope"! The first one was from a precious lady who shared with us how God is drawing her closer to Him while she is in jail. WOW!! As we watched Angie go up those steps to the platform, wearing shackles, there wasn't a dry eye in the place. Who among us haven't had "shackles" that we needed a Savior to release us from?!?

On Saturday morning, FBC ladies shared in a "Cardboard Testimony" time. Again, WOW!! How powerful to see the circumstances that God has brought these women through -- to HIM be the glory!

On Saturday afternoon, Ann Duncan shared a testimony of how God had brought her and her husband through a time of infertility. After giving up on having a biological child of their own, they adopted Canaan Tate Duncan from the Ukraine, in December of 2004. What a joy & blessing this little boy has been in their lives! In 2007, Ann & Nathan were surprised to find out that she was pregnant!! Isaac Nathan was born in March of 2007! Another miracle of God! Eli Henry joined the family in May of 2008, and Ann announced at HWW that they were expecting again in April of 2010!! There is definitely HOPE when you put your trust in God!!

Thank you to all of the ladies who attended this year's HWW, and thank you for being so understanding about the last minute program changes! But...as we have learned so well through this experience -- God is in control!!
